According to Cornell Law School, theft is defined as a generic term for all crimes in which a person intentionally takes personal property of another without permission or consent and with the intent to convert it to the taker’s use (including potential sale).
In this case, the man to the right does not have permission or consent to take the 100$ that he wants to take. That is why we believe that this is a crime and that this crime is theft.
